Host: Maximiliano Fabres

Guest: Ian Evans

Location: Bristol, UK

-

Maximiliano: Hello guys, welcome back to Beyond the Horizon podcast and the podcast where you go beyond uh the knowledge that you currently have. Well, that didn't work. That was expanding people's horizons.

Nathaniel: Sorry, my bad, guys. Okay, we're still working on that.

Maximiliano: Expand. Wait, what? What?

Nathaniel: You said it. You said it.

Maximiliano: I know, but I forget.

Nathaniel: Expanding people's horizon. No, was it expanding the horizons of knowledge or some I don't know. You said something. expanding where we expand...

Maximiliano: ...the horizons the knowledge the horizons of the knowledge anyway...

Nathaniel: ...anyway uh with me here today uh Nathaniel...

Maximiliano: ...yes...

Nathaniel: ...uh Fox Williamson...

Maximiliano: ...finally again...

Nathaniel: ...another...

Maximiliano: ...another time two round two...

Nathaniel: ...yeah actually...

Maximiliano: ...round three um there was some problems with yeah...

Nathaniel: ...there was some problem with the audio here and director, please actually actually listen to your conversation while we're recording. Anyway, now this is uh round two for you guys. Um because mainly because uh well, Nathaniel has the most liked uh video...

Maximiliano: ...for now.

Nathaniel: For now.

Maximiliano: Almost most viewed, right?

Nathaniel: Almost. Yeah, almost...

Maximiliano: ...close. It's close. Um,...

Nathaniel: ...it's...

Maximiliano: ...very interesting uh podcast where we talked uh about transgender uh people...

Nathaniel: ...in how you currently have a transgender mom.

Maximiliano: If you're not ready to get scary, you're not ready to be a...

Nathaniel: ...I think you're going to have to cut that out. Sorry.

Maximiliano: No, no, no. We'll keep that. We'll keep that.

Nathaniel: Okay. Just so you know, Nathaniel's views are not mine. Uh just I just want to clear that out. All right. this after I graduate, please.

Maximiliano: No, no, no, no, no. Um, anyways, um, people actually asked for Nathaniel, uh, mainly because I think people saw, uh, through...

Nathaniel: ...what you went through...

Maximiliano: ...and actually wanted to know to know you a little bit better.

Nathaniel: Um, so, uh, we already know kind of who you are.

Maximiliano: Yeah, just a dude. Just a fella. So just for the people who are just uh getting to know you right now through the camera...

Nathaniel: ...again sure if you haven't seen the other one um I do marketing at the university the west of England I'm a third year I've got three assignments I haven't started due in the next two weeks so oh I got reasonable adjustment though so I will be using that...

Maximiliano: ...um we met each other through work we used to do sales we used to sell charity...

Nathaniel: ...I know I know we love charity we love the charity of course dogs and cats People with cancer love them all.

Maximiliano: I don't like dogs and cats that much.

Nathaniel: I do. I think I liked dogs more after doing Bassy.

Maximiliano: I know you did. I know.

Nathaniel: I cuz before I would never I would be...

Maximiliano: ...cats.

Nathaniel: I don't know. I always love cats, but I would be more uncertain around dogs. Now it's like I see a dog and it's like, oh, I want to touch it, you know? I just want to touch it, you know. Over to you. Like the dog we saw today. No, honestly, I my record for touching dogs in a day is 25.

Maximiliano: Yes, he is as weird as he sounds, just so you know.

Nathaniel: I counted I wrote it down on my piece of paper. Every single dog we were outside um we were outside a shop.

Maximiliano: Okay. Okay. Okay. I I'll explain this quick. Um, so for the people who haven't done sales before, you get rejected so much, okay, that you need to find ways of keeping your attitude.

Nathaniel: Oh, that's a good point. Yeah, there there's a reason why I was doing it.

Maximiliano: Yeah. So, um, go on. Uh, tell us what you did to keep your attitude.

Nathaniel: Um, I think, uh, to be fair, like as soon as you touch a dog and you're like doing their little fluffy fluffy thing with it, it like it you you feel you feel like was it oxytocin? not expecting you to feel dopamine. I think...

Maximiliano: ...you feel a chemical in your brain that makes Oh, I like this. This dog's nice and soft and fluffy.

Nathaniel: I think that shots concentrate in my head. I'm not...

Maximiliano: ...But yeah, no, it's it's uh stuff like that because you're standing outside uh in front of any shop or whatever for 10 hours, eight hours, hopefully six hours, but six to eight hours a six to 10 hours a day. Um, and you because people are constantly looking...

Nathaniel: ...to 10 for people who are going to that industry.

Maximiliano: Um, to be fair, it's gotten better since leaving Bristol for other people. It seems like this.

Nathaniel: Yeah. I don't I don't know.

Maximiliano: Yeah. I I spoke to him yesterday.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: Yeah. So, our managing director that we had um...

Nathaniel: ...great friend of ours.

Maximiliano: Great friend of ours. Yeah.

Nathaniel: Sam, shout out to you. You'll be on the podcast.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Tried to convince him as well yesterday when I saw him. I was like, "Yeah, come on the podcast." Good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Nathaniel: Yeah. When's your episode? He's like, "Yeah...

Maximiliano: ...yeah." Um, but yeah, we used to do loads of hours because sites and all sorts of things behind the scenes that meant it was quite hard to it was a challenge to get over and get to these places or you won't have a site booked. Sometimes you'd have to book sites in the morning.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: And then you go to a site where you see six people a day, so you have to extra mile.

Nathaniel: Um.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, I I actually miss the days where we we got rejected by a thousand plus people.

Nathaniel: Yeah. I'd rather get rejected by a thousand people and I was constantly doing something than sitting there waiting for this to see someone...

Maximiliano: ...to see three people a day. Yeah.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: That's the type of job that we were in.

Nathaniel: Getting rejected was a a profession.

Maximiliano: Getting rejected. Yeah.

Nathaniel: I think I think that's that's the kick that sales people have. They just love getting rejected.

Maximiliano: Yeah. It's got to be a masochistic kink at this point.

Nathaniel: Yeah. A little bit. They're just going to be like, "Yeah...

Maximiliano: ...you know what I mean, though?" Like,...

Nathaniel: ...and then when someone like says they'll sign up like, "Was this this weird I wanted?

Maximiliano: Get away from me.

Nathaniel: I've spoken I've just spoken to a thousand literally a thousand people and they've all said no. Why you...

Maximiliano: ...Yeah. Yeah. Sometimes it would be that bad.

Nathaniel: TA4.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Yeah. T4. Another thing that you get from that job is uh knowing uh postcodes instead of...

Maximiliano: ...streets or even names of towns.

Nathaniel: BA1 2DR. Jeez, never again.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Nathaniel: And you'd have to get you'd have to be the first one to get to BA12 AD cuz always someone else there.

Maximiliano: Do you remember BA43? BA4.

Nathaniel: BA43. Wait, where? Where would that be? Because BA21's the oval. So BA4...

Maximiliano: ...No, BS BS43.

Nathaniel: BS44's BS40 is two magna which is down here. Where's BS43?

Maximiliano: Okay, maybe I'm talking.

Nathaniel: No, you might not be like it's probably a place. I just don't know where it is cuz I know BS40 is Chw Magna down here. It might be near Chumaga...

Maximiliano: ...or Cleveland. What's Cleveland? That's not...

Nathaniel: ...Oh no.

Maximiliano: BS. Sorry. BS BS40 for Chewag.

Nathaniel: Well, anyways.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Anyway. Anyway, let's Yeah. Cool. Basically, we know postcodes way too well.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Well, you know, I don't anymore because...

Maximiliano: ...I'm just...

Nathaniel: ...I've been away from the industry a little bit longer.

Maximiliano: I think I left two weeks after. Literally, I think it was like two weeks.

Nathaniel: So, I'm just for some it's for some reason it's going to be information I'm going to retain for the rest of my life. No idea why.

Maximiliano: I'll have dementia in 60 years and I'll be remembering these post codes. They'll be like, "Ah, bloody BA BA1 2DR."

Nathaniel: Back in the good old days.

Maximiliano: Back in the good old days when I was in BA1 2DR. And people going to be like, "What do you mean? It's BA1. We're in air strip one. Air strip. What's What's BA?"

Nathaniel: That's a That's a funny reference if you you understand what that means.

Maximiliano: No.

Nathaniel: 1984 England. And it's called Astrip One. So, yeah.

Maximiliano: Okay.

Nathaniel: In the book. Yeah.

Maximiliano: Never mind. Anyways, so no, no, no. Um,...

Nathaniel: ...my mother would love that reference, so it's okay. As long as Monty likes it, it's okay.

Maximiliano: Yeah, as soon as mom likes it.

Nathaniel: Um, uh, shout out for, uh, Zach and Isaac because they actually watch, uh, the full episode on the screen,...

Maximiliano: ...uh, on on the like TV or something. Oh,...

Nathaniel: ...they actually they actually do like it's it's so crazy for me that really Yeah. that people watch it on the TV.

Maximiliano: Yeah. My um my friend in fact you know when we were on that call uh go after the phone that went live we like who's watching it that was my friend. He was watching some of it as it was live and he watch he sent me a photo of it on the on the TV and I was like oh fair play.

Nathaniel: Yeah. No uh thank you very much uh for you guys who actually watch uh the full episodes. Uh it really encourages uh me at least.

Maximiliano: I don't know if you get encouraged.

Nathaniel: Yeah, it's interesting. It's interesting to see the feedback that you get from people to see what they...

Maximiliano: ...I mean I've learned so much. So please like if you um think I can do anything better like bringing better guests, you know.

Nathaniel: Um...

Maximiliano: ...yeah, also shout out to Tom for watching it.

Nathaniel: Yeah,...

Maximiliano: ...that's my guy.

Nathaniel: Shout out Shout out to Tom then. No, but if you really recommend uh something that we could do better, uh please uh just uh write a comment.

Maximiliano: All right. Uh but yeah, uh back to back to what uh I really wanted to uh ask you about.

Nathaniel: Yes. What do you want to ask me about?

Maximiliano: Um I don't know how to Sorry. Could you like...

Nathaniel: ...Oh, yes, of course. We forgot this.

Maximiliano: We always forget the camera.

Nathaniel: To be fair, we did it quite well. the past two ones or one for the viewers, but...

Maximiliano: ...Oh, yeah.

Nathaniel: Yes. There we go. Nice little candle. We'll put the light to here.

Maximiliano: So, um I don't know how to put it.

Nathaniel: We'll cut cut it out if you don't think it's a good thing to...

Maximiliano: ...talk about.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: Uh but in the recent past,...

Nathaniel: ...recent past.

Maximiliano: Yeah. You've been uh I'll call it unwell. Yeah. Okay, cool. About this. Yeah, sure. Fair. Um I don't you there's no reason this. Okay.

Nathaniel: Sure. We...

Maximiliano: ...I just want to I just want to know uh maybe a bit like what what led you there? Uh and maybe what...

Nathaniel: ...has gotten you out?

Maximiliano: I don't know. It's one of those thing like I've always had this mental I've not always but I've recently not recent in the past couple years I've gained this I don't know where I got it from but I got this mentality where I would if I'm ever in a dump if I'm ever in a dip I will always get out of it. Um so I know that whenever I do get in a dip I do tell like I told myself this today or in the morning like was it yesterday? I can't I don't remember times but uh I always say to myself oh it doesn't matter where I'm at right now because I know I'll go out get out of it. Um, so I think having that in the back of my head for the past couple years has helped.

Nathaniel: Wait a second. Is this too raw to actually put on the podcast?

Maximiliano: Too raw.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: Um, we can talk I'll talk about what I feel comfortable and if I don't feel comfortable about certain stuff I just want to say.

Nathaniel: Um, yeah. Just cuz it's like it's one thing that you don't really talk about with people. Not or sorry, let me rephrase that. It's something I've not really spoken too much about with other people.

Maximiliano: I think you're probably the only person I've actually spoken a little bit about.

Nathaniel: Um, but I think it's easier for us to speak about it because we've sort of had a similar experience.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: And also leaving at the same time meant that we had a similar experience as well or a similar time frame to when it went...

Maximiliano: ...same age.

Nathaniel: Same. Literally, I'm a little bit older.

Maximiliano: I'm I'm the older one, guys. You wouldn't Yes. You wouldn't think I'm 16 to 18, which most people who I me for energy drinks...

Nathaniel: ...more like 14 once he once you get to know him.

Maximiliano: Yeah. What do you mean?

Nathaniel: Yeah. My parents watching this being like, "Yeah, yeah, he's not grown up." Yeah, that's actually absolutely right. Yeah, sure. Um well it's I think you know when we were in Swansea I think it might have started...

Maximiliano: ...it might have started then...

Nathaniel: ...my it all comes back to the train of thought that I have where I don't know what I'm doing with my life. I don't know.

Maximiliano: Do you know what I mean? Like I don't have a Whereas you had a clear goal where we spoke about was it last one or the one before? where you had a clear goal of you wanted to be a teacher, then you wanted to be a do we even speak about this in the podcast or was this before the podcast?

Nathaniel: But I remember you talking about you want to be a teacher, but the best way to be a teacher or to teach as many people as possible was to open up a school but then not just one loads in order to do loads of schools you earn loads of money. So you know what you wanted to do.

Maximiliano: My problem is I have no idea what I want to do. Um, I don't know what I want to I have loads of things I enjoy, but then that doesn't really work most of the time or sometimes you just lose passion for something like...

Nathaniel: ...Yeah.

Maximiliano: I don't know how to describe it. I don't know if this is just a thing I need to see someone about or something, but like I'll be super enthusiastic about something for six months. I uh let's say let's do Muay Thai as an example. I was super enthusiastic about it for loads of time.

Nathaniel: The reason why I'm still enthusiastic about it now is because I had a massive gap where I couldn't train because I couldn't do something. It meant that I wanted to do it more.

Maximiliano: Um and then recently at work where we were working so much I didn't again I couldn't do it. So now I know I can do it. I do want to do it. Well, I got uni assignments to do first. I'll do those first before I do anything else.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Lack always creates the...

Maximiliano: ...it's uh Yeah. So...

Nathaniel: ...that passion for I wouldn't call it passion.

Maximiliano: It's like it's why guys act so indifferent nowadays because it's like it gets people to chase them. It's like oh you're not giving them the attention so they people crave that attention from you.

Nathaniel: It's like you know what I mean?

Maximiliano: You know exactly.

Nathaniel: I know what I know what you mean. Yeah. But I I am contrarian to that type of thinking.

Maximiliano: Really? Yeah. I'm I'm extremely h the thing is I'm conservative as hell. So...

Nathaniel: ...So I me just to say I wouldn't do this with girls but I know...

Maximiliano: ...maybe it's because my circle around uni girls and also people that we worked with said...

Nathaniel: ...to do stuff.

Maximiliano: Yeah. You should...

Nathaniel: ...love bomb then ghost or you know. Yeah. Sorry technique by the way...

Maximiliano: ...and ju yeah ju just...

Nathaniel: ...just you know that that's the type of circle that we were surrounded...

Maximiliano: ...uh by I wouldn't say in sales ; but that's because sales is so transactional I'd say or it's so intentional intentional...

Nathaniel: ...uh and you're creating basically a need...

Maximiliano: ...and I feel that goes into all kinds of aspects of life so the people who do that that would sometimes sometimes you use that in other spaces of life that I don't think they're too you know...

Nathaniel: ...that that you shouldn't play like that you know.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Like I will always be a lover boy. I'm never going to do the nonchalants. Yeah. Like I'm never going to do the nonchalant. It's...

Nathaniel: ...what's what's the most lovable lover boy thing you've done? I got I got a story. Did I tell you? I told you last podcast, so I'll tell it again, but I bought a It was a ring, a ring of with Holy Mary on it, right? And I gave it and I said I'd marry her. This was in year three, year two, year three.

Maximiliano: See, so yeah, I got engaged technically at year three.

Nathaniel: But hey, that's that's the way I want to do it. I never want to do the the the nonchalon, but the problem is it works.

Maximiliano: Yeah, that's...

Nathaniel: ...But maybe wait, hold up. Let me think. Let me retrace that. Maybe it works on certain type of people. Maybe it's different type of people you...

Maximiliano: ...That's what I've learned.

Nathaniel: Okay.

Maximiliano: Uh and that's why I don't think it's the right thing for me to do.

Nathaniel: Uh...

Maximiliano: ...the performative male.

Nathaniel: Exactly.

Maximiliano: Yeah. I'll never be that.

Nathaniel: Do you not like that?

Maximiliano: Neither.

Nathaniel: I hate that. And I've tried it. I've tried it and I've I realized I just that that wasn't me.

Maximiliano: Um so...

Nathaniel: ...yeah. No, I Yeah. in school. I think in year seven or something,...

Maximiliano: ...yeah,...

Nathaniel: ...seven or eight, I uh I dressed all white. Oh my god, terrible. Year seven. I'm talking about year seven, guys.

Maximiliano: All white. Uh brought uh like a bunch of uh flowers.

Nathaniel: And I asked somebody uh with a knee on the ground if they wanted to be my girlfriend. Oh, fair fair play. Fair play. That's professional. That's a professional way to do it.

Maximiliano: What can I say, guys? I I am a romantic guy. Um,...

Nathaniel: ...you're not going to see. I'd rather do that than sit in a cafe drinking matcha latte with uh feminist literature in my head. I'd rather do that.

Maximiliano: There would be no way I would do that. I'm so sorry. I've I've studied feminism. Great great things. Um, mainly I studied it to confront my sister about it. So to find arguments. So I I don't think I've studied in the right way that I should have.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: You study to win an argument rather than study to find out more.

Nathaniel: But I know a lot about it. Which is good now because now I can like invert the argument and say like, "Oh, okay. That that actually makes sense."

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Well, agree knowledge continue.

Maximiliano: Sorry.

Nathaniel: Agree. Acknowledge continue.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Yeah, you're absolutely right. But what about and this, you know,...

Nathaniel: ...basically...

Maximiliano: ...um but yeah, um so I I think uh well towards the the meaning of of what you want to achieve. Okay.

Nathaniel: Uh going back to to that because I don't know how we went into this.

Maximiliano: Yeah. When we talking about lover boys and stuff.

Nathaniel: Yeah. the meaning of so the reason why I probably go through these dips where I don't know what I want to do um is because I don't actually know what I I get super enthusiastic about something I go really hard at doing it so one time I trained twice every day and then I had a fight and then I didn't do it again...

Maximiliano: ...oh now I now remember why we were install or nothing all or nothing is like my my mentality...

Nathaniel: ...sales seven hours a day no seven days a week all day for months on And...

Maximiliano: ...um it was probably burnout as well.

Nathaniel: I think the the the way I got into business...

Maximiliano: ...was thinking about if I could choose the worst day I could have...

Nathaniel: ...Yeah.

Maximiliano: You don't like Guinness?

Nathaniel: That's not Guinness.

Maximiliano: That's Guinness.

Nathaniel: No, it's not. There's no way.

Maximiliano: It is Guinness.

Nathaniel: The other one I had was Guinness. There's no way that's Guinness.

Maximiliano: Let me try it. I don't think that's skin.

Nathaniel: You have like a mixture.

Maximiliano: There's no way. That's There's no way that's...

Nathaniel: ...No. Do you want to change?

Maximiliano: No, it's fine. It's fine. Do you want Do you want to swap?

Nathaniel: No. No, actually not. I was like business. Yeah, business. The reason why you got into business?

Maximiliano: Yeah. The reason why I got into business was um actually basically saying, "Okay, what would be the worst day I could have? So if I could choose the worst day where everything goes wrong because everything will go wrong at some point in your life. Okay.

Nathaniel: So if you're a teacher like I wanted to be...

Maximiliano: ...um basically you will uh get a suit from like some uh horrifying parent...

Nathaniel: ...like that that by you doing something right they thought it was something wrong. So you get sued.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: The school will put you on probation or some stuff like that.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Um there'll be cameras even maybe...

Maximiliano: ...to record all that. Okay. Which will be awful.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: Um and so on so forth like so just imagine the worst day a teacher could have. Uh it's end of end of the semester say you got all the tests...

Nathaniel: ...already and you have to you have to send them back. I don't know whatever it is. And then you choose whatever career you find most appealing.

Maximiliano: Okay.

Nathaniel: So I I thought, okay, if I would be on the worst day ever,...

Maximiliano: ...uh what would it be? Um so one of my businesses is facing bankruptcy.

Nathaniel: Well, I'm getting sued. The business is getting sued.

Maximiliano: I'm down. I'm getting I'm um I'm about to be divorced if not like...

Nathaniel: ...on the rail...

Maximiliano: ...over there.

Nathaniel: Um hopefully not because I'm not going to marry...

Maximiliano: ...a European...

Nathaniel: ...or American...

Maximiliano: ...prenup or all of your property,...

Nathaniel: ...put it in your mother's name or a trust. I mean, we've spoken about...

Maximiliano: ...Yeah. Well, I'm going to put everything on a trust.

Nathaniel: Yeah. So this is not divorce me. Sure.

Maximiliano: Yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no. Any nothing.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Uh mainly because I also don't believe in contracts that are made by the states.

Maximiliano: Don't like like pre-made contracts. I think they're terrible.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Um anyways so yeah basically you got like this list of really tough things that you have to face...

Maximiliano: ...and that if you would choose the problem you could have it...

Nathaniel: ...then what would you have that that was basically my...

Maximiliano: ...my thought process going into it I had that thought about 19 18 years old...

Nathaniel: ...okay...

Maximiliano: ...so I just like targeted I was like oh business...

Nathaniel: ...because I've seen what a loose lawsuit is because of my dad.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Um I've seen what stressful situations in business are because of people that I knew at that time.

Maximiliano: Uh I knew what it was to have to like report to some places because of a friend I have.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Like accounting and businesses or Yeah. Or kosh, right? Oh, in the UK it's kosh like chemical hazards and stuff. Oh yeah. Basically, I I knew like a little bit of everything about uh business while I also knew everything about uh being a teacher.

Maximiliano: Okay.

Nathaniel: Uh because of my mom...

Maximiliano: ...and a couple friends that I had.

Nathaniel: Uh so it's like I just chose the career I thought I would do best at,...

Maximiliano: ...I would excel at.

Nathaniel: Okay.

Maximiliano: And I would actually enjoy solving that problem.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: Truly enjoy it. So if you think about the worst day you could have,...

Nathaniel: ...which one would you choose?

Maximiliano: Okay. What out of lawyer, business, all that stuff?

Nathaniel: Yeah. Basically,...

Maximiliano: ...any career that you could do?

Nathaniel: Yeah. Like what like you can start by saying, okay, what do I actually like doing?

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: What do you like doing?

Maximiliano: I enjoy doing my marketing course.

Nathaniel: Okay.

Maximiliano: Uh I need to actually go to it though, do it. See,...

Nathaniel: ...here we go again.

Maximiliano: No, but I now that I think about it, the thing the reason why I enjoyed doing the marketing was because I think it was more interacting with um especially in tutorials, interacting with the the teachers. I maybe liked the look of what I I think I was in a lecture and I was thinking to myself, I was like, "Oh, I'm sick. I'm a little uni student over here in my laptop looking at the screen like you see in movies like I think I like the idea." I'm And then I'm thinking like, oh, the content I'm doing, the the the thing they're showing me on the board is someone was doing it in the most um uh monotone sort of lecture. I'm just like, yeah, it's just like,...

Nathaniel: ...yeah, I'm here for the image. I'm not here for. But then there are other aspects of uni where you go to the tutorials and you talk to the teachers. I have great relationships with all of the the module leaders and module things. They love me, but that's cuz I...

Maximiliano: ...Yeah, I know. I know you I know they love you.

Nathaniel: Yeah, I say all the time. they think, "Oh, he's he'll he's great." Well, but that's also because I help them a lot. But having that sort of connection with people is probably what I liked more than doing the subject I was doing. It's also marketing, so it was easier than aerospace.

Maximiliano: Um,...

Nathaniel: ...yeah. Which is the other course which I started doing and then I changed because I was like, "Yeah, how do I...

Maximiliano: ...Oh, you started doing aerospace engineer."

Nathaniel: Yeah. Because I did engineering before college.

Maximiliano: You look like an engineer, man.

Nathaniel: You do look like an engineer. Hate. That's a hater thing to say. Yeah.

Maximiliano: Yeah. On me. Um, yeah, that's why.

Nathaniel: Oh my god. I went to this party. Sorry. Sorry. But...

Maximiliano: ...I went to this party, started talking to this engineer.

Nathaniel: Uh, and she said, "Uh, oh yeah. Um, I don't know. What do you do?" And I said, "Oh, yeah. I'm a bartender."

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Uh, and uh, then I asked her like, "Oh, what do you do? You're I'm an engineer." And I said, "Oh, I could I noticed." And then she took it like really heavily and then she said like, "Oh, are you saying I I sound autistic?"

Maximiliano: That's literally it.

Nathaniel: I was like, "Yes, you do." But no, no, absolutely not. Of course not. I would never say that. Like, come on. No, no, no.

Maximiliano: Sorry for that. Uh, it was actually a joke, but after you said it, then you did sound like me. Just so you know.

Nathaniel: Yeah, you get you get vibes. I don't know. Maybe my my tism D is so high. Like he's so good at like noticing.

Maximiliano: I'm I'm a big noticer. Yeah. But anyway anyway to your point. Um marketing love that. That's good fun. Love doing it. Love interaction with the course leaders. They're good fun. Um I used to do a lot of editing and making videos. Um but it stopped becoming it was in when I was making creative content that being creative and doing creative content like that was more fun. Then when I tried to use it to make money, it kind of just got boring. And it felt like I was doing it as a chore. And when you don't see any results, it's just kind of like, but the thing is, it's weird. When you don't see any results, it kind of sucks. But when you do see results, it's just like, oh, it was that easy. Like I've I've gotten videos where they've gotten millions of views and it's like, really? You people watched this? This is what you people like one video got 7,800 hours stolen from people, and this is what they were watching. I was like, yeah, okay, cool. This is this is putting me off. I'm not going to lie. This is putting me off. Anyway, uh and then Muay Thai. I enjoy doing I just enjoy sports in general. Anything that gets me fit or active, even if I'm just been a hit in the bag and I'm just going I mean I shouldn't cuz I actually hurt my elbow the other day cuz I yesterday cuz I went like that on a bag and I was like, "Oh, actually...

Nathaniel: ...that shit."

Maximiliano: Uh when you hit when you try and hit the back of the head with a in Muay Thai with an elbow. I tried to do that on a bag and I almost passed out afterwards. Like yeah, you know when like the blood drains from your face?

Nathaniel: Yeah, the pain is so terrible.

Maximiliano: I don't even know if it was the pain, but it was just like I had to sit down because I was about to pass out from, you know, when your vision gets funny and it's goes it goes uh like a TV screen. So yeah, I did that. Don't know why that happened.

Nathaniel: Anyway, anyway, I love hitting the bag. I love hitting the bag. I love doing more time. I love training with people. I love doing that. Those are the things I sort of at the moment marketing that and exercise, going outdoors. I love in the countryside.

Maximiliano: Okay.

Nathaniel: Um to be fair, I wouldn't even say going out.

Maximiliano: I know...

Nathaniel: ...cuz we go out like especially when you're sober, you go out and you're like, why am I here? Why am I here? Why am I in this club with group fours?

Maximiliano: Don't say that. Don't say that. I I promised somebody that that I wouldn't use that concept anymore.

Nathaniel: Oh, really? What?

Maximiliano: I mean, I promised that two years ago, but you know,...

Nathaniel: ...I do know what you mean. That's like you've never seen me use it.

Maximiliano: Oh, really? You You never judge based on that.

Nathaniel: No.

Maximiliano: Oh, really? So basically what we're saying is based on looks putting a number a...

Nathaniel: ...credit card value credit card score to that number of a general error a general area of where they live. To be fair I live in a group four area.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Seven.

Nathaniel: Yeah. This is a group five mate.

Maximiliano: Huh?

Nathaniel: This is group five.

Maximiliano: I can tell. hell.

Nathaniel: Yo,...

Maximiliano: ...look what you got the street out that way. you.

Nathaniel: Is the block over there?

Maximiliano: Yeah. No, literally that's why I said that.

Nathaniel: Oh, the park's nice though.

Maximiliano: Yeah,...

Nathaniel: ...the park's nice. Yeah, it's nice.

Maximiliano: And the stadium. Other than that,...

Nathaniel: ...so I just doxed you.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Yeah, I just do you. But yeah.

Maximiliano: Um, anyways.

Nathaniel: Anyway, you promised this person why you wouldn't do that.

Maximiliano: Yeah, actually it was my ex and I still respect her very much. That...

Nathaniel: ...is this one we walked past today or?

Maximiliano: No, no, no, no. That that that wasn't it. That...

Nathaniel: ...cut that out. Cut out. No, no, no. I I literally just walked past somebody I used to see. And now I go to church and I'm trying to focus...

Maximiliano: ...on being a good Christian,...

Nathaniel: ...following the teachings. The dirtiest side I've ever seen. I was like,...

Maximiliano: ...he was like, just look forward. And I was like, ah, okay. I see. I see. I see it. Sure. She goes,...

Nathaniel: ..."Beautiful woman."

Maximiliano: Well, I can't tell until she got this this close, but...

Nathaniel: ...Okay.

Maximiliano: Yeah, cuz eyesight. Eyesight.

Nathaniel: It's bad. Like, I can't see his face. So,...

Maximiliano: ...yeah.

Nathaniel: Cut that out, though.

Maximiliano: We don't want We don't want the director's face to to be to be named...

Nathaniel: ...to be Oh, really?

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Oh, okay. Cool. Okay, cool.

Maximiliano: Um uh but yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Talking about church.

Nathaniel: Church. Yes. Let's talk about church.

Maximiliano: How are you finding it?

Nathaniel: I think it's it's so different from Catholic church and I have...

Maximiliano: ...tell tell the viewers a little bit about it and then...

Nathaniel: ...cool. So, we've been to church a few times. Um well, twice. Um this weekend and last weekend.

Maximiliano: I've been I've been going for months. Well, years. Two two years now.

Nathaniel: I mean, yeah, two years really.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Different churches, different countries,...

Nathaniel: ...different different even different languages. Three different languages.

Maximiliano: Oh, really?

Nathaniel: Literally everything I've got.

Maximiliano: English.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Everything I've got I've been I've been putting it that much.

Maximiliano: So, it would have been Protestant in Germany, right?

Nathaniel: Uh, no actually was Catholic.

Maximiliano: Really? Okay. In in Germany of all places.

Nathaniel: I know. I know. I know that thing is the person who actually introduced me to to going back to...

Maximiliano: ...to church and so on.

Nathaniel: He's opposite which is a very...

Maximiliano: ...I would call it very conservative uh...

Nathaniel: ...like orthodox...

Maximiliano: ...into that area. Yeah. But uh and something that really stuck to me is that one of the saints um says uh one of one hour worked is one hour prayed.

Nathaniel: You say this a few times. Yeah.

Maximiliano: Because if you work...

Nathaniel: ...for God or for the future of humankind.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Let's call it that for the non-believers.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Future of humankind. If you work towards you and your family.

Nathaniel: Oh yeah. Exactly. um...

Maximiliano: ...the country that you live in,...

Nathaniel: ...forgotten country,...

Maximiliano: ...whatever it is,...

Nathaniel: ...then that is an hour because you're actually giving it for something bigger than yourself.

Maximiliano: Okay.

Nathaniel: You know, it's like an offering so to say.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Like uh was it Leonardo da Vinci who said that he believes he could work he could have worked harder. I think that doesn't connect but...

Nathaniel: ...No, no, no. But that's what I mean it's it's going into a direction.

Maximiliano: Yeah. This is all to do with work and working harder and then knowing that you can put in way more effort than you actually are.

Nathaniel: That's why I do like 14our days cuz I don't mind like literally don't mind because it's the same thing for me. It's like...

Maximiliano: ...I am giving it for my future family.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: I'm saving for my future investment which will take care of...

Nathaniel: ...my parents in the future. So like that's that's what I'm thinking when I'm doing when I'm deciding okay let's do...

Maximiliano: ...a big day today you know.

Nathaniel: Okay cool.

Maximiliano: Yeah. How are you finding church?

Nathaniel: Yeah I mean it's different from Catholic church. Um it's good. I think the church that we go to is very it struck me as very uh there's a lot of younger people. So like I was when I was thinking of church I was thinking old people. I was thinking, you know, I was going to be doing signups after sign up like that's kind of my what I imagine.

Maximiliano: This is going to be a long term. It's a fivey year plus. Don't know about...

Nathaniel: ...um...

Maximiliano: ...he used to sign up for older people. So that's why...

Nathaniel: ...towards the end of what I was doing, I became more...

Maximiliano: ...65 plus. Like that was bare minimum. I I never saw him with...

Nathaniel: ...There's a funny photo of me out there...

Maximiliano: ...this close to this close closer than here to this old lady and he just ch her.

Nathaniel: I think you took that photo cuz we were in Milford Haven. Oh my good.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Or this another time I spoke to this one lady 85.

Nathaniel: Um she was great. She loved me. I spoke to her for an hour in Pusy. Lovely lady.

Maximiliano: People love you.

Nathaniel: Yeah, I know they do. But it's it's because they'll if it's it's when you give them like when you if you're just fun, young, bubbly, they love that because it's like you're giving that energy to them.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: And they and usually when they're old, their family probably see them as old. So they just think...

Maximiliano: ...Yeah. Yeah.

Nathaniel: So they just see them as just like, oh, they're old, they don't have as much fun when actually, you know, old people are just going to have as much fun, you know.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Yeah. So or they want to have that much fun, they want to have the relationship, but...

Maximiliano: ...they just don't have the physical Yeah, sometimes they do. My granddad's 88 and he cycles still, I think. I hope so.

Nathaniel: Oh, yeah. Well, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I actually know that my my exger teacher...

Maximiliano: ...um he became a skiing instructor at 67.

Nathaniel: Oh, wow.

Maximiliano: A ski instructor at 67.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: That he became...

Nathaniel: ...That's No, that's fair. my um great uncle, my step great uncle, he skis a lot. He goes to the Alps or...

Maximiliano: ...he's a Swiss guy actually.

Nathaniel: Okay. Yeah, he's in his 70s, late 70s now.

Maximiliano: He used to go skiing all the time. I mean, in his house, there's photos.

Nathaniel: Yeah. No, like with older I think a lot of um the stuff that I do now, I try and emulate off of certain old people. Yeah. When I look back at my um this is not me emulating, but this is me noticing that oh, I've started doing something similar. Is there a lot of the stuff that my older the older generation wear is kind of similar to what we're wearing, not this color, but if if this was navy, it would be like, oh, I' or brown, actually. It's more brown. They wear brown, don't they? Yeah. So, if I if this was brown um and this was maybe...

Maximiliano: ...Well, I'm Latin American. They do use color. Sorry.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Yeah. In the UK, they use brown. Okay.

Maximiliano: I I would think this this...

Nathaniel: ...Yeah. Like uh who was that guy that we spoke to? The Swedish guy...

Maximiliano: ...that had the barber jacket, brown barber jacket.

Nathaniel: Swedish.

Maximiliano: He was Swedish, but he spoke really good English and he looked English, but he was Swedish. Norwegian. Swedish. Marcus.

Nathaniel: Oh yeah.

Maximiliano: Yes. Church. Okay. Church.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: It's something like Sven, but it wasn't Swen. But yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.

Nathaniel: Steve.

Maximiliano: No, it was a Nordic name. But like...

Nathaniel: ...was it? I thought it was Steve.

Maximiliano: Oh, okay.

Nathaniel: Steven. Steven. Stephan.

Maximiliano: Shout out to you though.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Um...

Maximiliano: ...if you're watching.

Nathaniel: But yeah, like I've noticed emulating that or trying not to spend...

Maximiliano: ...you called your old man. Just so you know.

Nathaniel: Youthful gentleman. There we go.

Maximiliano: Old man.

Nathaniel: But yeah. Uh how are you finding church?

Maximiliano: Yeah, I think we said this.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh it's different. So the difference is the Lord's Prayer is way different.

Maximiliano: So you used to what you were raised and...

Nathaniel: ...Roman Catholic. Yeah, Roman Catholic. So I was Roman Catholic. Did that up to a certain point. I think I got to a rebellious age when I was um going through puberty. Let's just say that sort of secondary school.

Maximiliano: That's why you stopped going to church.

Nathaniel: Yeah, I think so. Because I did communion.

Maximiliano: I had communion. Didn't do confirmation though. Um, but I think I just had this rebellious age where I was just doing all sorts of crazy stuff.

Nathaniel: I mean, for for me it's more like a search. I go to church because it's the time...

Maximiliano: ...I have the question.

Nathaniel: There's how I explain it.

Maximiliano: I have the question and I need to know more about it before I do any decision because I really don't know.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: My family is not religious.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: At all actually. My sister in particular, she shamed me a bit...

Nathaniel: ...really...

Maximiliano: ...for going Yeah. for going to church.

Nathaniel: Said to me like, "Oh, you're getting like indoctrinized." And...

Maximiliano: ...yeah, people say this. I think it comes from a lack of understanding. I think some...

Nathaniel: ...for some things. Yes, I can understand. Yes.

Maximiliano: I mean, definitely is for some areas in some groups.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Like uh like or some or some religions, right?

Maximiliano: Uh depending on how hard you do it. um how hard you run like Islam if I can say you know getting into indoctrinated into that...

Nathaniel: ...quite quickly quite easily. Um...

Maximiliano: ...well some again some areas some churches some some...

Nathaniel: ...in that case...

Maximiliano: ...um or I know a friend ; or a friend of a friend...

Nathaniel: ...Omar he's Muslim he's chilled as hell...

Maximiliano: ...yeah well that's the thing chilled I've been placed where so more than...

Nathaniel: ...Yeah he's more...

Maximiliano: ...it's a little bit but that's such a you know what's funny is that's such a British Muslim thing to do...

Nathaniel: ...right yeah...

Maximiliano: ...that's such a British Muslim thing today.

Nathaniel: European Muslims, European Muslims are breeded differently. I don't know. Literally...

Maximiliano: ...drink smoke. Bro, this I don't understand this. Um I don't know if this is you for Christians, but for Muslims, they'll be like, "Oh, I can smoke weed. That's fine. Smoking weed is fine." Then they'll think, "Oh, yeah, it's fine. It's fine. You know, we can smoke weed. Smoke weed literally every day." Like I've met guys from uh Egypt who who who've come here just for uni. We'll smoke weed every single day. Uh or and they'll be like no it's fine. This is not against the crime. It's just like yeah it's pretty against it. I don't know. I don't know where they get the justification thinking it's okay to do. The problem with weed is it stays in your system for 30 days...

Nathaniel: ...ish.

Maximiliano: Um...

Nathaniel: ...at least at least.

Maximiliano: Yeah. And in Islam, they don't, if you're under the influence, it nullifies any prayers that you have. So let's...

Nathaniel: ...Yeah. For 30 days, it nullifies any prayers that you have. Um, so if you're smoking weed that nullifies...

Maximiliano: ...I thought it was like 3 months that it you could like see like find it in a blood test or something.

Nathaniel: I thought it was just a month.

Maximiliano: But even I think...

Nathaniel: ...either way Yeah. It's a long time.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Right. So like let's say you smoke weed and then a week later your uh for Muslims if their cousins die usually you do a a jiza or whatever it's called for um a funeral prayer that funeral prayer is now nullified because they smoked weed a week ago you know ; uh so to them it means a lot where they don't know but they don't for some reason they don't understand this...

Nathaniel: ...um especially for Muslim families when they're huge...

Maximiliano: ...you know you've got like cousins and cousins going with each other and you got like millions of everyone. So if something like that does happen,...

Nathaniel: ...yeah, they're all connected, you know.

Maximiliano: That's crazy. Anyway, we're going to church. What was different? Um...

Nathaniel: ...what was different was...

Maximiliano: ...young people.

Nathaniel: Younger people. Well, this I think it was more church specific. Communion.

Maximiliano: Communion is different because it's actual bread,...

Nathaniel: ...not like the little circular thingies. Uh the the it was was it cranberry juice that they had?

Maximiliano: It was it was bitter. So it was cranberry or grape juice or whatever.

Nathaniel: Whatever it was. Yeah.

Maximiliano: Um they do it's interesting they do I can't remember what this they what the subject of mass was like. It seems like they do um a couple hymns to start off. They do no they do announcements to start off.

Nathaniel: Then they do some hymns. Then they do a reading or whatever and then they do another reading of a part of the Bible and then they explain it for however long he does his explanation for and you sing some more and then it's done.

Maximiliano: Yeah,...

Nathaniel: ...it's quite simple.

Maximiliano: It's very simp. The thing is so we we go to a Baptist church.

Nathaniel: Um so what I've I tried to I actually had to like investigate it deeply because...

Maximiliano: ...I just couldn't understand what the differences are between different...

Nathaniel: ...Okay. Yeah.

Maximiliano: You got like Pentecostal. Okay.

Nathaniel: Which you don't even know what the hell that means.

Maximiliano: Pentecost. Wait, no. Pentecostals are Jehovah, right?

Nathaniel: Pretty sure it's something similar.

Maximiliano: I think Okay. What I what I found out and what I when I mean this is a real in well a short video in YouTube shorts...

Nathaniel: ...is...

Maximiliano: ...Pentecost focus on the experience...

Nathaniel: ...okay...

Maximiliano: ...the experience of feeling God. So you will get this like stadium looking churches,...

Nathaniel: ...okay,...

Maximiliano: ...where there will be like lead lights and stuff like that.

Nathaniel: Like smoke smoke things...

Maximiliano: ...type convention. Very like...

Nathaniel: ...I know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Very sect like...

Maximiliano: ...culty. Yeah.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Very culty. Um then Baptist um um from what I understood...

Maximiliano: ...they focus on your relationship with God. Yeah. The Protestants...

Nathaniel: ...uh but they focus on you. They have this thing which Muslims also have which is...

Maximiliano: ...your relationship with God...

Nathaniel: ...like I don't interfere in...

Maximiliano: ...within your life. Yeah.

Nathaniel: Because it's your relationship. And they also have the Bible as like the priority because the word of God.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Of course.

Nathaniel: Um while Roman Catholics are more about the church.

Maximiliano: Yeah. The pope.

Nathaniel: The pope.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: And tradition. It seems like it's more there's more traditions to it.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Well, because um they take it from this verse where they uh...

Maximiliano: ...cancel a nice.

Nathaniel: Yeah. I think uh Jesus says like I'm I'm married to a choice like that. Yeah.

Maximiliano: Uh and then the if the purpose the head of the church then they should listen to...

Nathaniel: ...you know the person who's married to...

Maximiliano: ...Yeah.

Nathaniel: Jesus technically.

Maximiliano: Oh. Oh that sounds weird. But yeah like trinity. You got the trinity.

Nathaniel: Yeah. The trinity. And but like the church is more important. And so on. And you get different...

Maximiliano: ...Yeah. And you got different there's thousands. I'm sure there's thousands of different...

Nathaniel: ...millions if not.

Maximiliano: But the what's different, what makes them different is just the way they do things. It's not like the God is different. It's just, you know,...

Nathaniel: ...that's why I don't mind going to the the Pentecostal. I think younger people are way more minded about going to different types of churches. I think for me it's always been about finding a community that's more chill with that you that you can sort of...

Maximiliano: ...um rely on or be more accepting or um you feel comfortable with.

Nathaniel: Yeah.

Maximiliano: Like the cool I mean I noticed this today and we spoke about it a little bit but it's so cool to see so many different types of people...

Nathaniel: ...in the same room and it's not just basically different types of immigrants. He was the only...

Maximiliano: ...non-immigrant...

Nathaniel: ...English Irish person.

Maximiliano: Now you putting the Irish no to...

Nathaniel: ...he was the only English person there and he told me my mother's family.

Maximiliano: Look at this what I found.

Nathaniel: Far enough back. They're immigrants.

Maximiliano: My great actually no and it goes back to my great-grandfather. He was a Irish immigrant...

Nathaniel: ...in Exat Liverpool and you know all those fun places.

Maximiliano: He's not an immigrant. That's close enough.

Nathaniel: Close enough.

Maximiliano: Close enough. Yeah. Um...

Nathaniel: ...Yeah. No, but it was interesting to see so many different people. But it's it's not just like...

Maximiliano: ...you've got all of one and then one other. It's...

Nathaniel: ...No.

Maximiliano: And it's not you the only similarities you you was you saw were Hong Kong. Hong Kong. But it was like not actually Hong Kong Hong Kong. It was Hong Kong, Uganda, uh Chinese.

Nathaniel: Taiwan. Yeah. I need to...

Maximiliano: ...Yeah, but that's because they'll go Catholic church.

Nathaniel: Yeah, they'll go trying to evangelize people...

Maximiliano: ...apparently. No, the thing is I brought him so...

Nathaniel: ...now I feel like an evangelic. Like a proper evangelic, you know.

Maximiliano: Evangelic. Well, getting as many people to as possible.

Nathaniel: I feel I feel like an evangelic now.

Maximiliano: Oh, really? I I brought you Yeah.

Nathaniel: ...to church.

Maximiliano: Well, I think it's just a good It's a really good meeting place communitywise. It's a good It's a good community. Like people there are all really chill. I mean there was there was one guy who was a bit crazy but yeah nice they were really positive.

Nathaniel: There's people who are trying to be good.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: That's the thing that that's what unites every Catholic Christian whatever it is.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: They're trying to be better people.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: Although they'll screw up.

Maximiliano: Yeah. That's it. Yeah. That that is still there. Like they're still human.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Of course to as human as the saying goes.

Maximiliano: But yeah. They're trying actively...

Nathaniel: ...to follow this set of rules...

Maximiliano: ...whether you believe they're holy or not.

Nathaniel: They're trying to follow this uh rules and and and they're becoming better in in the process.

Maximiliano: It might be.

Nathaniel: Yeah. It's just a good meeting as well as as well. And it's you're not going to clubs and doing all this degenerate stuff. You're seeing actual people and having actual conversations, you know.

Maximiliano: Yeah. No, no shallow.

Nathaniel: Yeah, no shallow. You're talking about you're interested in people as they are people rather than just like acting nonchalant, you know, looking at Oh, was a girl looking at me? Okay, I guess I'm going over the type You're not doing any of that.

Maximiliano: No, but but you still look not going to lie.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Yeah, of course. You know, but Well, I can't cuz I can't see. So, I just I just take it as it comes, you know.

Maximiliano: That's why you don't Yeah, that's why you don't sin.

Nathaniel: Yeah, exactly. So I I don't need to or I should probably but...

Maximiliano: ...I'm say I my eyes save myself from you know from s I don't think I would anyway even with buses...

Nathaniel: ...I think I used to go to a lot of um spoke with one of the girls uh one of the girls church today um and we talk about we spoke about she must have misheard me because I said hunt uh the boxing day hunt it's very because she's She said she was from a very English place. I was like, "Oh, I like Boxing Day Hunt. You do that as well?" "Yeah, we go hiking." Um, so I was like, "Oh, okay." That's slightly different to what I was saying.

Maximiliano: Boxing what?

Nathaniel: Boxing Day Hunt. So, it's where English is a very English tradition where they go with beagles and just chase hairs around the country.

Maximiliano: What? What? It's It's not very popular now. Uh, it's not too popular.

Nathaniel: Yeah. No. No.

Maximiliano: I don't know. I liked I liked the I I think I liked the idea of it from a nostalgia point of view as in like this is something I used to do when I was a kid. Um...

Nathaniel: ...You used to do that?

Maximiliano: Yeah. All the time. Every weekend. It was like every weekend that I would do it when I was a kid.

Nathaniel: Okay. So he's like proper white. Just...

Maximiliano: ...like real white. Okay.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Like...

Maximiliano: ...English having horses type of white, you know.

Nathaniel: No, no, no. We we this type of hunt group never I don't remember ever being horses but you would always come across fox hunts and fox hunts would have horses...

Maximiliano: ...playing polo type of white you know.

Nathaniel: No no no no not not quite not quite. So...

Maximiliano: ...not quite.

Nathaniel: Not quite. Um we we weren't that far. Um we were sort of you know English did have...

Maximiliano: ...Oh really? He's that type of white. Okay.

Nathaniel: Colonizer white. Colonizer white.

Maximiliano: No. I'm actually living in America.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Colonize a white.

Maximiliano: No, no, no. Check it out, man.

Nathaniel: My phone is like full of persecuted people.

Maximiliano: What?

Nathaniel: Persecuted or persecuted?

Maximiliano: Persecuted. No, no, no. I don't know.

Nathaniel: No, I'm just with you. Um,...

Maximiliano: ...anyways. Yeah. No, it's good fun. Uh, I mean, it's more going outside in the countryside. Um, again, it's I feel like it all comes back to community. I remember when I was a lot younger, you'd go I think it was a lot different because I was a kid. So when you're a kid, you know, kid uh the adults are way more appreciative of you. So they're like, "Oh, have this free sausage roll. Have this, this, and this, and this." And you don't need to give money into because like uh this is another thing that was different is the box. Yeah.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Yeah. The money. Money. You give money in the box at church. You also would give money at hunts. You'd put money in for for the hunts.

Maximiliano: Um especially on Boxing Day. Okay.

Nathaniel: So, it was just to help the hunts keep going.

Maximiliano: Okay.

Nathaniel: Um, but yeah, like that's yet again a church. They don't do the money passing rounds.

Maximiliano: Yeah, I know. I was like,...

Nathaniel: ...you can do it if you if you like. Um, there's like a cure code somewhere.

Maximiliano: Oh, okay.

Nathaniel: Um, but yeah. Uh, and do you reckon it has helped you with with this low point or whatever?

Maximiliano: Yeah, I think so. So I think it helps talking to people, going talk to people and getting out there and actually doing something rather than saying...

Nathaniel: ...um yeah, and just meeting new people in general. It's just good.

Maximiliano: Yeah, it's exciting.

Nathaniel: It's exciting.

Maximiliano: It's like I know you're very sociable. So...

Nathaniel: ...yeah, here's the thing. Like I'm sociable until I'm not like...

Maximiliano: ...like grabbed you and threw you to church.

Nathaniel: Yeah. I mean I'm always nervous. Like when we did the basketball today, I was quite nervous doing it cuz I don't play basketball. And also I'm for me if I was to do a sport, it takes me a long...

Maximiliano: ...Did you see my shots? Like...

Nathaniel: ...did you see me grab the ball like this? I look like this.

Maximiliano: Oh my god, so bad.

Nathaniel: For me, I was like, "Oh my god, such a right now."

Maximiliano: The problem is I used to play basketball.

Nathaniel: Thing is, I never play basketball. For me, I see the ball coming and my in cuz I did volleyball. My instinct was to like...

Maximiliano: ...Yeah. go like this to go like this. I was my instinct was like, "Oh, I'm covering I'm I'm standing like this trying to get the ball and or I'm got my knees down like this, like I'm preparing to get the ball and I'm just like, you must have seen me at the other side just going like this, looking at the ball like this, waiting for it to come like...

Nathaniel: ...or like the you know,...

Maximiliano: ...volleyball is fun. Volleyball is so fun.

Nathaniel: I love doing that." We did volleyball in the summer, didn't we?

Maximiliano: Yeah. with the that that mother...

Nathaniel: ...when we're in the park. There was that the...

Maximiliano: ...who didn't even speak English, but we still just played.

Nathaniel: Yeah,...

Maximiliano: ...that was good fun. Oh, I ripped my trousers during that. Oh my goodness.

Nathaniel: Oh, yeah.

Maximiliano: Had to buy the trousers.

Nathaniel: It was a good look though,...

Maximiliano: ...huh? What? No. Wait, what? Wait, what?

Nathaniel: Wait, what? You cheeky little monkey.

Maximiliano: Wink wink.

Nathaniel: Wait. Yeah, we're not fitting this in.

Maximiliano: Yeah. Well, anyways,...

Nathaniel: ...we actually need to go to one of the church events.

Maximiliano: Would you like to go?

Nathaniel: It starts at 6 now.

Maximiliano: Yeah.

Nathaniel: It's finished.

Maximiliano: Is it?

Nathaniel: Well, not finished, but it by the time we get there, it'll be finished.

Maximiliano: Okay. Well, we we'll we'll call somebody.

Nathaniel: That's fine.

Maximiliano: But, uh anyways, this I know this was a shorter chapter. Um, we we can actually try a shorter...

Nathaniel: ...shorter version. Yeah,...

Maximiliano: ...shorter versions.

Nathaniel: Make it more accessible to people.

Maximiliano: Uh, yeah. So people actually listen to the full thing, you know. I think it puts people off a little bit.

Nathaniel: Like a video of like an hour and a half.

Maximiliano: Uh, it depends. It depends on the type of person.

Nathaniel: Yeah. Younger people aren't going to watch longer videos. But...

Maximiliano: ...I mean, that's why you you have a long clip, a long video of something and then you clip it up...

Nathaniel: ...and you send the clips cuz people watch the clips.

Maximiliano: That's the thing that I that I that I want to do at least...

Nathaniel: ...of me the other day. I got what 3K 3.2K views all together.

Maximiliano: Yeah. On YouTube. YouTube was on Tik Tok as well. Anyways, so um thank you very much uh again for listening...

Nathaniel: ...to uh Beyond the Horizon podcast where you expand...

Maximiliano: ...your knowledge...

Nathaniel: ...of your horizons.

Maximiliano: Yeah, you expand your horizon knowledge. No, your knowledge of you expand horizons of your knowledge.
